World AIDS Day 2021: FAMCRU CRS

We commemorated World AIDS Day with the help of a very well-known community liaison person and also a registered nurse at the Sarepta clinic. Sr Titus specializes in TB and HIV programs and this year, instead of focusing on just TB/HIV, she assisted in taking a holistic approach to our current COVID-19 situation to get messaging across about all three diseases.

Those who had not yet been vaccinated were given their first shot and those who had been vaccinated were able to receive their boosters. Information packages were given to all in attendance and small gifts were included.

Paramedics and other volunteers offered their services to make this event successful, as well as South African police services.

I want to thank FAMCRU adolescents for their initiative and willingness as well as Sr Titus and ambulance of Western Cape, SAPS, Pappa Joe, a Ugandan national for mobilizing the event, and to the community members at large.

Our focus: Better health, better communities.
